Our counter service offers more than just incrementing a number each time you get a hit. We provide invaluable data about your hits. Data that will assist a Web Manager in making decisions that can improve their site's performance. As an example, when you came to this page, we recorded the following information about your hit:
Your Email Address: It is very important that you enter a VALID email address here. Upon completion of this form, you'll be emailed the HTML counter coding to put on your web page.
Counter Password: Will be required whenever you update your counter account parameters and performing log maintenance. Whenever you perform any counter parameter updates or log purging, you'll need to enter the password and email address exactly as you provide here. Your password must contain only alphanumeric (a through z, A through Z, 1 through 9) characters only.
Your Web Page URL: This is the page you will be putting the counter on and the page we will record hits for. This is also the URL we link to in our Web Site directory.
It is very important that the domain name portion of your web page URL is accurate because the referring domain information (www.yourdomain.com) will be recorded to allow only you to access the counter.
If you are unsure about the proper domain, create a temporary page on your server or place the below HTML coding on the page you'll be tracking hits for and then come back to this form by clicking on the link.
Then look at the top of this form where it states ... Where You Came From ==> and enter the http://www.yourdomain.com/ portion exactly as it is displayed. The HTML coding to hyperlink back to the counter is ...
If you feel comfortable that the URL you enter above is correct and don't wish to bother checking it now, you can to change the URL later only if you receive an error message after setting up the counter. Going through this procedure should only be performed if you are unsure of the proper URL for your web page.

Select Private Statistical Areas: Pages Dates Visitors Domains Browsers Times Links Do you wish to have your statistics remain private from the rest of the world. Select those areas you wish to be private and then whenever you access your statistics. In order to access any checked areas you will need to put your password after your account number. Hiding Your Hits: You can opt to have your hits hidden from being displayed within your statistics. Your hits are still recorded, but won't be part of the statistical analysis. This is not a foolproof method of hiding your hits in many cases. If you are accessing your site from your own dedicated server, this will be easy for you. You can just enter firestone.alexa.com and have all your hits blocked. If you are going through a provider, this will not always work. If you are accessing the Internet through a provider then you'll probably want to enter the alexa.com portion of your remote host's name. If you do not understand this option, just leave it blank!
Number Visitor Hits Viewable: When viewing your Visitor Statistics, how many minimum hits from a visitor do you want to view. The default (10) will display all visitors who have visited your site 10 or more times. It is suggested that if you have alot of traffic you set this to a higher number and those sites with little traffic set this number to a lower number.
Display Statistical Graphs: Yes No We've already taken into account AOL's inability to view tabled graphs. If you browser doesn't support tables you might want to check No above to see a clear statistical analysis. Otherwise, leave checked Yes to see your statistics in graphical form.

What Number Do You Wish To Start With: Although the recording of detailed information about your hits will not occur until you receive your first hit, you can enter the starting number that will be displayed on your web page. Enter the starting number your counter should display. This option only available on counters displaying hits on their pages and not those under the multiple page option above.
DBasics Web Directory: Unlisted List in Directory Although this option is only available to paid counter accounts, we recommend you select one so that if you subscribe this option will automatically take affect. Would you like us to link the web page entered above in our Web Site Directory? Our directory will be accessible by all who use our counter service and it's visitors.
